New Weed & Safety Coordinator

Hello! My name is Eva Leaf, and I am your weed and safety coordinator for Wheatland County. I graduated from Montana State with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, focusing in agriculture production. I have a passion for agriculture; specifically focusing on soil regeneration, food production, and helping the agriculture community in any way I can. I am prioritizing getting trust fund grants back to our county, to aid in expenses for weed control in hopes of assisting ranchers in the community. I believe that maintaining our soils and range land allows for higher quality food production, less expenses for our ranchers in the long run, and longevity preservation of our ecosystems. The more we can protect and maintain our soils, the less habitable they are for noxious weeds. I am eager to work with our community, to get to know and help our community members,  and get back to fighting noxious weeds!

Is this weed present on your land, to your knowledge?
If marked yes or unsure, would you allow for monitoring at your property to give us a better idea on how we should go about controlling this weed in our county? (Likely sometime in the spring of 2025.)
Have you implemented any efforts to control this weed if you are already aware of its harmful effects to your property?
How concerned are you as a landowner with this weed on your property, on a scale of 1-5 (1 being not concerned, 5 being very concerned)?
(Skip if you are unsure.)
